Recording - Because

This song was the second experiment on my new recording equipment, and it was an experiment on vocal harmonies.

To give a little bit of history, this recording isn't exactly "new" per se. This recording actually began back in 2002 (I believe) when Jesse Dunivent (my friend from Salisbury, MO) and I were working on what I called "The Beatles Project"--a project in which we were covering some Beatles songs for fun. We recorded such songs as "If I Fell," "Ticket To Ride," and "BlackBird." One of the songs we decided to record was "Because." I learned the keyboard parts, and Jesse learned the guitar part, and we put down the music that you hear in this track. It took us a little while, but we actually did record a 3-part harmony to the music, but unfortunately it was lost when Jesse's computer crashed and we were left with only the music from then on.

Since that point, I've always thought about finishing it; and now with my new recording equipment, and the desire to experiment with harmonies (esp. after listening to the Beach Boys) that day has finally come! The song you hear is basically a 9-part vocal piece singing a 3-part harmony. I have triple vocals on each melodic line. I believe I've heard somewhere that this is how the Beatles did it, and once again, I wanted to keep it close to the original (and also, I thought it would be fun to try). I was quite pleased with the end result. Available for download are the full version and a vocal version (with the old music removed).
