A game of Mario Brothers and a weird, weird church | I had a dream where we were watching a movie, or somebody was playing a game, and they came to a room that had a painting on the wall to the right of a doorway. Eric Folsom's head popped out of the painting, and he gave them some kind of a threat or warning. Eric, some others, and I were watching this; and Eric said, "Oh, hey, I remember doing that!" I got the feeling it was something we worked on before years ago.
In another part of the dream, I was outside with a bunch of people on a bright sunny day. We were sitting with our backs against a van playing Nintendo on a screen that was inside of a house. Steve Force (a fellow co-worker) was playing Mario Brothers, and he was making it pretty far in the level; but I kept trying to convince him to let me play on the tough levels because he was losing lives left and right. Finally he made it to world 8-3 with one life left. Realizing I was a better player, he gave me the controller to get past the level, because he wanted to finish the game. The controller was square and the buttons were in odd places, but I began playing anyway. I jumped over a few lava pits, and I paused the game in mid-jump so that I could play inside the house. It took me a while to get into a position where I wasn't stretching the cord, but finally I was ready to play again. I began trying to hold the controller and realized I couldn't orient it properly. No matter which way I turned it, I couldn't get the buttons to fit to the right fingers like I could a normal Nintendo controller. I was under pressure to play, so I unpaused it and quickly jumped (I had landed on one of those one-block landings where you need to immediately jump again before you slide off into another pit). A beetle started heading toward me, and I tried desperately to find the right buttons to jump or move, while simultaneously trying to orient the controller properly. Finally in desperation I looked for the pause button, but it was too late. The beetle got me and the game ended. Steve said, "I thought you were a better player than that, you sure messed up my game," or something to that effect.
In yet another part of the dream, I found myself in a church with lots of people. The church looked like a church called Moniteau Chapel found near my home in Missouri. I sat in the front left pew. In our bulletin there was a narrative explaining how dogs and turtles were believed to be going to heaven. I thought, "Is this a joke?" We were about to sing a hymn, so I picked up this gigantic hymnal half the size of me (literally), and flipped it open to a song. The song had some kind of a weird, worldly theme, and it was laced with a bit of profanity. I distinctly remember it having the word "bitches" in it. I was wondering if this would have some sort of connection to a hard-hitting message, because of its controversial nature. While we were singing it, a little boy a few people to the left of me began crying. A girl got on stage to sing, but I noticed that she was dressed so sloppily that you could see her undergarments. She realized this too, so she began singing with her back to the audience.
Thoughts anyone? This was a weird, weird one. 0 Interpretations/Comments | Leave an Interpretation/Comment | April 11, 2009, 4:04 PM
A quick beer and a sad blonde boy | Last night I had a dream that I was in a two story place where people were drinking and having a party upstairs. I went up the narrow wooden staircase to join them (it was almost like a treehouse, and it seemed to be where Aunt Phyllis's trailer is now). There I found Rachel, Holly, and Jendy having a beer. I joined them and had one myself. It was very delicious, much better than my previous experience.
Later in the dream, I was in a cave with Rachel. We walked passed a long-haired blonde kid who was stairing into a small pool or puddle. He kept saying "Boy-eee" at his own reflection, getting more serious each time. At some point, I began saying, "Okay, cut, cut, CUT!" like I was watching a movie. I thought it had gotten too silly, and had stretched on for too long. I realized how serious this was when the boy kept saying it and began crying.
There was more between this and following this, but I can't remember it. I lost it shortly after this morning ended! 0 Interpretations/Comments | Leave an Interpretation/Comment | April 11, 2009, 3:55 PM
The lion in the old warehouse | I had a dream a few nights ago that there were several of us (10 or so) in an old abandoned warehouse running from a lion. The room we were in was large and messy with high ceilings. We quickly ran into a room across the way and swung the door shut. Several of us had to hold the door shut so that the lion couldn't push it open. Others of us went scouting to see if there was another way out. This room was L-shaped and really messy and busy (with old desks, loose doors, loose windows, and other odds and ends lying around). I found a hole in the back of the room that I could climb through.
I climbed through the hole and found myself in the yard at the back of the shed at my parent's house in Missouri. I ran towards what I thought would be safety, only to realize too late that it was just towards a patch of trees (the same patch of trees my sister and I used as a "hideout" when we were little. The lion was outside already, and he ran at me. He got me, and my mind suddenly went "Alright, take two!" I was allowed to try it again like I was in some sort of King's Quest game or something. I thought, "Well, this time, I'll run from the back of the shed to the house."
Meanwhile back in the warehouse, everyone had been there for so long that they'd started freezing...literally. It was like they'd been in a freezer. One was cranking a generator, but he was starting to tire out. He began to talk about quitting. If he quit, the lion would somehow be able to get in and kill them all. They began to talk about ways they could kill themselves. Someone suggested that they could try poisoning themselves. The person cranking the generator got frightened at the prospect. That someone then suggested that they could saw their own heads off with a table saw across the way. The person cranking the generator liked this idea even less. His eyes got big and he thought, "That would be a horrible way to die." He began realizing that death was not going to be pleasant any way he tried to go.
That's all I remember. 0 Interpretations/Comments | Leave an Interpretation/Comment | April 6, 2009, 11:24 AM
The bad house, the house with legs, and the baby basket. | Alright I've had a million dreams I've wanted to write down recently, but when it comes to it, I can't seem to remember a single one of them! So here follows pieces of 3 dreams I've had. One was a few months ago, one was from last night, and the other was from the night before last.
I had this dream a few months back that Rachel and I were buying a house (big surprise there). It was in a small city (or patch or houses really) where the houses were really close together. We were in the basement of the house, and the sellers were showing us the place and carting out old appliances/furniture. For instance, I saw them wheeling out an old TV on a rack. They wanted quite a bit for the house, and we were planning on buying it. However, I was getting the feeling that the sellers weren't being honest. I began noticing rips in the carpet and other run-down aspects of the house. Rachel was blindly overlooking it and falling; hook, line, and sinker; for all of the good things the seller was saying about the house. This dream was odd in that it would probably be the other way around in real life.
The night before last I had a dream that I and a few other people were in a 3 or 4 story building in Greenville. The building was odd in that it had 10 to 20 pairs of legs and arms sticking out of a few sides of a collapsed floor in the center of the building. I asked about theses appendages, and someone told me that there were people working on that floor over the summer. One tragic day the floor collapsed on them and killed them all, and because it was so hard to get the bodies out, nobody had done so yet. The rest of the dream has been lost into obscurity, but I think I had those appendages on my mind as I explored the building further...
And finally last night I was having a relatively calm and peaceful dream, which I cannot remember for the life of me. Suddenly it turned nightmarish, and that I can remember plainly. I was in a two story building in Fayette, MO (a house we used to clean for with a family who had twin boys). I walked towards a table in the dining room to look through a microscope so that I could look for three signs for a certain person. The three signs meant something to them. I only saw one of them--a baby. I can't remember what the other ones were.
Anyways I looked in the microscope, and saw an overhead close-up view of a peaceful stream with an open basket in it (like the basket Moses is usually pictured in). A snake was lying in the basket. I looked away and looked in again. This time a baby was floating face up beside and attached to the basket. It's eyes were open. Again I looked away and back again. This time I saw the snake tail attached to the outside of the basket where the baby had just been attached. It rattled. I looked away one last time and looked back. This time I saw the baby's head jammed into one corner of the basket. It's eyes were open and looking straight at me. Evil music had been playing and building this whole time. This was followed by Rachel waking me up (in reality). She told me I'd been making terrified noises, so she'd decided I should be awake. I promptly thanked her and had a glass of water. When I went back to bed, that evil, worried theme was still playing in my head, as well as the images of the dream. It took me a while to get back to sleep...
So there you have it. Jaron Davis has weird, weird, weird, twisted dreams. 0 Interpretations/Comments | Leave an Interpretation/Comment |
