Jeremiah, Jason, awards, and two bears | Alright, here comes another dream.
The first part is kind of fuzzy, but I think Rachel and I were walking up a sidewalk (headed North) and we were really far away from home. We were trying to get somewhere, and we kept stopping at places along the way. There was also something we left behind for some reason. We eventually came to an empty house, and Jason Carr was there. He was telling me that there was something he wanted to be (a policeman or something), so that he could police this other guy that was causing trouble (I think).
The next part I remember is that Rachel and I were in a big field with lots of people there, and awards were being handed out. For being the most helpful (on a plane?), I somehow received both first and third place, which I was excited about. Heath Ledger posthumously received second place, and we all paused respectfully.
Then we were in a hotel room with lots of people hanging out. Jeremiah was there, and he was somehow being dramatic about missing friends and wanting to hang out with people. We didn't give it much thought.
Then I was alone, and the hotel room was attacked by two bears. I stabbed one with a knife in the forehead, and the other one began to talk. He said, "What was that about, are you about to knife me too because I'm attacking you? I don't want to die, give me that knife!" He started grabbing for the knife, and I kept trying to stab him in the forehead. I finally managed to do so, and he said, "I knew that was going to happen," before he fell down.
Then later on in the dream, I saw Jason again, and he ended up getting what he wanted (to be a policeman?), but the person he wanted to police (or take care of) was still giving him trouble. Finally the dream ended with Jeremiah and I in the hotel room. He said that though he was being dramatic, he had meant everything he said; and all he really wanted was to hang out with me personally. It was a big realization for me, and the dream ended with us hanging out and watching TV. 0 Interpretations/Comments | Leave an Interpretation/Comment | September 19, 2008, 9:16 AM
The foam-mud beach | The title above seemed to be the only one that fit. This was a very unusual dream (which of mine aren't?) that I had just before waking up this morning.
I was in the car with fellow co-worker Steve Force, and he was driving us somewhere. I had to read the Bible, so I told him I was going to read it out loud. I did, but it sounded really obnoxious for some reason. Just as I was getting to a funny part with Adam, (where Adam says, "Hey, God, I've lived this long (800-some years), I'm going to live a whole lot longer aren't I?" and God says, "You wanna bet?") I was interrupted by a phone call from Holly Davis. She told me she was going to watch something with our family tonight while I was hanging out with Rachel, and that she'd be over later that night like we'd planned. I said, "Ok," and that was that. I then asked Steve if my reading was obnoxious. He told me it was a little, and I picked back up where I left off on that humorous "Adam" story. I tried to explain to Steve how people way back in the day had long, long lifespans, but I got interrupted again...
We kept driving, and I was staring out into the ocean. The dream suddenly became a Stargate Atlantis preview where it was just a single shot of the ocean from one of those cameras resting in the waves that gets repeatedly submersed from time to time. Someone was narrating over this peaceful image what the new, exciting "Stargate Atlantis" movies were going to be about, and he'd use words like "submersed" and "inundated with trouble" whenever the camera would go under water. As I was watching I would try to hold my breath each time the camera went under water, but the last wave was just too long!
I arrived at some sort of beach with what looked like foam all around (as well as water). When I stepped into the foam my foot would sink into it like mud and then stop. Where my foot would stop the foam felt soft, rubbery, and pliable; like mud you'd find underneath creek water. But it was softer and squishier at the top. In my dream I called it "hardened foam" and I felt like I was getting it between my toes. I stepped around in this for a while, until I was finished.
I came back to a place in the city where Rachel was performing a dance for a bunch of people (in our house in Missouri?), and we were all commenting on her performance. Holly called again and told me that she wouldn't be able to make it tonight, because the show she was watching with our family was a 3-parter Atlantis episode, and they were too wrapped up in it to quit watching it. Since I was looking forward to hanging it, it was quite disappointing news for me.
I had to leave again for some reason, so I headed out in the car on what looked like Harris street in Greenville, IL (which in real life, would have taken me to McDonald's in the direction I was headed). A few blocks down this road I made it back to the foam-mud beach where I proceeded to walk in the foam again. I picked a direction towards these sandy patches of land (between the foam) and headed there. It was quite peaceful and relaxing. I somehow ended up in a cave where the foam was getting up to my knees, and then...the alarm woke my up to go to work. 0 Interpretations/Comments | Leave an Interpretation/Comment | September 16, 2008, 8:37 AM
A crazy clown and a milk-air balloon | Alright, I'll write what I can remember of this crazy dream. I woke up after I had it and tried to memorize it by saying "clown, demon, and milk" before I went back to sleep. So that should tell you a little bit about the weirdness to come...
I think the clown came first; and for those of you who've read It, you can tell that this part seems quite heavily influenced by it. In my dream there was a murderous clown in the basement (the basement to my Grandpa's old house in Indiana) with me and a couple of kids I was looking after, and we were frightened of what he could do to us. The parents upstairs were going to come down and deal with him, but he was the least of their problems right now. They had "bigger" problems to deal with upstairs. I was wondering in the dream, "What could be more important than dealing with a murderous clown in a basement?" Anyways, I was sitting on a chair opposite the two kids who were sitting on a large couch. The tall and lanky clown came up and proceeded to sit by the youngest one. He was whispering in his ear all of the things he could do for him if he'd only become his friend. For some reason we were safe from the clown if there were enough of us together, and I was encouraging the kids not to listen to him. I suppose, in the dream, the clown couldn't harm you unless you started believing his lies and becoming his friend.
The "demon" came second, I think. I was walking around my parent's house and yard, and I kept getting haunted by some evil presence. He'd suddenly show himself in a flash of bright light or make a loud noise, and then he'd disappear. I kept getting the feeling that I'd dealt with him before, and he'd went away; but now he was back again, haunting you in the same spots. I wanted to get away from him, so I asked David, (my brother), who was leaving for somewhere, if he could take me with him. We started driving up the gravel road, and he asked me what the problem was. I don't remember if I answered or not...
And in the final part of my dream, I was in a gym, and there was what looked like a gigantic hot-air balloon that was filled with milk. It was a milk balloon. Apparently, in my dream, if you fill a large balloon with milk, you could make it fly. This one wasn't fully inflated, so either it was being filled up or it was deflating (I think it was deflating). I got the feeling that this balloon belonged to me. I was told that milk could last for 1000 days in this balloon before it needed to be re-filled. I began to think, "Wouldn't it start smelling long before that? I wonder if the balloon keeps the smell in?" Then I woke up.

The DC Amish and the living game | Alright here are a few snatches of another weird night of dreams. And the "Amish" in my dream loosely refer to a closed off group of people who adhere to a strict set of rules that seem culturally strange to rest of us in the dream. What I dream about the Amish and what I think about the Amish are not necessarily the same thing, and upon further thought I think "Amish" can be interpreted metaphorically, and not literally, in my dream...
The first bit of dream I can remember is that Rachel and I were visiting this group of Amish who were living in a small room inside the DC (yeah, the one at Greenville). They were known to her and her family. We all began watching a film which had questionable material for the Amish people. They started to say things against it. During the viewing of this film, one of the Amish girls, who I think liked me, started leaning against me; and it weirded me out! They finally stopped the film on the grounds that it was "inappropriate".
The second part of my dream had to do with Rachel playing Castlevania. She was at the first part of the stage in Castlevania III that ends with the Grim Reaper/Large Skull boss (you know, the part with zombies and axe warriors), and she just couldn't get past it! She'd make it to the axe warriors, and she couldn't seem to kill them quickly enough. She also couldn't strategize as to how to avoid the axes for long enough to kill them; she'd always impatiently hack away at them, in the hopes that she'd take them out before they got her. Then she'd start over and try again, and again, and again. Pretty soon we got a phone call telling us that our game-playing was having a real world application. All of the items we'd picked up/bought/used in the game were appearing in real life at the "Castlevania" factory (I guess), and they were being stored on a shelf. This had some sort of monetary consequence for us, and we were thinking about whether or not to keep playing, realizing it was having this effect.
Weird, huh? Any thoughts? 1 Interpretations/Comments | Leave an Interpretation/Comment |
