Good Day Sunshine
Yesterday was a beautiful, beautiful day here in Oregon, IL; and I thought I'd take a moment to write about it.

Rachel and I had our 3-year-anniversary-of-dating yesterday (yes, we even celebrate those), and to celebrate we went out on a picnic in Lowden State Park. It was downright hot outside! This was nice considering that it has felt like winter since November. Anywayz, we went down a set of steps (all 203 of them) past the giant indian (Blackhawk himself) and gazed at the almost flooded Rock river. It was great! Going back up the steps was like it always is when you don't go on walks as regularly as you should, you've just eaten a picnic, you haven't had enough water to drink, and you're used to the bitter cold of winter--it was tiring! Spring is great, isn't it? And being one of those infernal optimists, it just so happens to be my favorite season. I'm glad it finally packed its bags and moved up north to Oregon, IL.

Once I got home, I made some updates to the website. I added the song "Because," a vocal version and a full version, which I worked on soon after almost finishing the "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" experiment. I then added recording details for both "Lucy in the Sky" and "Because." Hopefully soon I'll be able to post more songs (old and new) along with more pictures, details on "The Sea Monster", and other random stuff.

Maybe then the website will be ready to be announced to the general public. (Those who have randomly found this site in its infancy, show yourselves now! And if you're feeling constructive, let's hear those criticisms!)

Eight Days a Week
Whew! Please, please, please do not ask me to relive last week. It was absolutely insane! It involved long car trips, St. Louis, Greenville, interviews, lots of work, confrontations, phone calls, and an almost all-nighter. Ask me sometime, and I'll supply you with the details...

Well, now, it's Saturday, I'm officially into my 25th year of life (meaning 24--think about it, it makes sense), and now I'm ready to record! I'm just about to finish with my first project, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Once finished, I'll be able to post it and all of the boring recording details (for those who are interested in that sort of thing).

Should you end journal entries with a question?

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away...
Yesterday was my 24th birthday, and indeed, my troubles seemed so far away! Thanks to everybody who came and participated (that means you Rachel, Holly, Chad, Fishy, David, Laura, Eric, Becky, Jendy, and Kristin), and thanks to everyone else who came in spirit (creepy)!

And special thanks to Rachel for the setup and the presents, Becky for the cake, Rachel's parents for letting us crash the place and for the presents, and Holly for bringing "Rock Band."

I feel like I'm an announcer at an awards ceremony...but seriously, all, thanks for coming, it was a blast!

Sigh...I'm not ready for tomorrow to almost be here...
