The Simple Video, the Gym Nazi and Tornadoes
Alright, after a long stretch, here is another dream...

In the first part of my dream, Rachel and I were filming a video for one of my songs. In the video, Rachel was filming me walking backwards down a set of stairs and singing. Then when I reached the bottom of the stairs, I turned the corner, continuing to walk backwards, and finished the song.

When we were done filming, I realized that we had possibly taped over something else I wanted to keep on the camcorder tape we were using. For some reason, I thought that I would save space by having two things recorded in the same spot, and I was sure you could "undo" the recording, as on a computer, and essentially have one stored in memory while you were looking at the other one. I realized that this didn't apply to tapes, and that I might not be able to retrieve what we had previously taped. I checked the tape, worried that I had taped over it, and discovered that I had only taped over the opening. Most of it had survived. I breathed a sigh of relief; apparently I'd spent a lot of time recording the first thing.

In the next disconnected part of my dream, I visited a gym with Matt (a former coworker). The gym looked like the gym at GC where graduations are usually hosted. I was under the impression that we visited there often and had the freedom to run around as we pleased. This time, however, there was a "gym Nazi" who was telling everybody which direction to run around the gym. In defiance, Matt and I decided to run against the crowd. "I hope this is upsetting that gym Nazi," I thought to myself.

And finally, we get to the tornadoes bit. I haven't had a "scary" tornado dream since I was a kid; they're usually silly. But in this one, I was leaving the gym with Kelcie (a friend) to head to my house. There were storm clouds all around. To my left, I noticed what looked like moving clouds hanging low to the ground. It almost looked like a tornado. As such, Kelcie and I stepped up our pace.

Yet in the distance, we saw a gigantic, wide, black tornado. We couldn't quite tell which way it was moving, but it looked like it was moving left to right. This immediately convinced us to turn back and run in the other direction. But once again, there was another tornado behind us, blocking us from wanting to make any progress. So we ran as quickly as we could back to the gym.

When we got there, we decided we'd probably better get in the basement until this blew over. Michael West (yet another friend) was there, and he was talking about heading back to his dorm to get his stuff. "We need to help him out, so he could get back here faster and be safe," Kelcie told me.

"No, Michael, forget your stuff. We need to get into the basement immediately!" I responded.

"I can't think about forgetting my stuff; it's extremely important to me," he returned.

"Well. I'm going into the basement," I said, splintering off from Kelcie and Michael, and heading into the gym, hoping they would follow. They didn't.

When I got into the gym, I told the person who was manning the place that I was headed into the basement. "Oh, so you can get sucked out by the tornado, huh?" he replied sarcastically.

I gave him an incredulous, you-don't-know-what-you're-talking-about look and said, "Well, I'm headed into the basement now."

I ran into the basement and into a small bathroom. This bathroom had one of those high basement windows. Rachel called and told me that she was hiding in the basement back at our house in Edwardsville. I asked her if everything was okay, but she got cut off before she could answer. As I worried about her, I gazed out the window to see the state of the storm. I saw that same large black tornado in the distance. It looked like it was headed off to the right, but it also looked like it was headed right for us. I wasn't sure if it was going to miss us completely, or clip us. As I waited to see the result, certain that it would probably take out the edge of the building, I...

Woke up. Needless to say, I think this dream was inspired by the events of yesterday. Thoughts?
