The Apartment Invader
My dreams are getting scarier and more vivid. During my nap this afternoon, I had the following dream:

In the dream I was asleep on the couch in the living room. I sort of half woke up because Chad got a phone call for work in the computer room, and I could hear him talking. Then I heard someone moving around in the kitchen. At first I thought it was Chad, but then I realized it couldn't be him since he was on the phone in the other room.

I tried to wake up really fast to see who it was, but my vision stayed blurry for a long time. Even with that, I could see that it was this guy in his late teens, wearing a kelly green hoodie. He walked over to me and when he saw that I was awake, he tried to run away. I grabbed his hoodie and said, "Hey, who are you?! How did you get in here?" He smiled, twisted away, and jumped out the kitchen window, where he had cut through the screen to get in the apartment in the first place.

At this point Chad was still on the phone and when I tried to go tell him what happened, he wouldn't be disturbed. So I went back through the apartment, making sure the doors were locked (they had been the entire time) and that all the lights were on. But when I turned on a light and left that room, the light was off the next time I came to the room.

After a couple minutes of trying in vain to light the dark apartment, I saw someone standing in the shadows in the living room. It was the same guy. He had several things in his hands, and he started by throwing them at me, one by one. They were all things from my own kitchen, including a sharp knife, a spoon, a fork, and some heavy thing like a blender. I tried screaming at Chad because I could hear him talking on the phone still, but it did no good.

I yelled at the guy, trying to duck and avoid the things he threw at me, saying, "What are you doing here? What do you want?! Get out!" And he replied with a wicked smile, "I picked you because I thought YOU could do with a little budget tweaking!" He then picked up several sentimental things in the living room and smashed them against the wall. I screamed and tried to use the knife to get rid of him, but he just kept laughing and threatening to kill me. "You got the wrong house!" I screamed. "We don't have any money to tweak our budget with!"

Then he lunged at me, knocked me to the floor and tried to rip off my clothes. I screamed and cried and tried to yell for Chad, but I remember thinking that he wouldn't hang up a work phone call for any reason, even if his wife was about to be molested.

I managed to cut him a little bit with the knife and he just smiled and leaped out the window again. I ran straight to the kitchen and found some bigger knives to defend myself with, and tried to think of a way to invader-proof the apartment. I also tried to turn the lights on again and in the process I saw the guy and what appeared to be his henchman staring at me through the windows, smiling.

I ran to warn Chad, and when I turned back around the guy was right there with a knife to my throat. "Why do you have so much stuff if you have no money?" he asked. "You can't tell me all of this stuff has sentimental value!" He kept smashing things. Then the guy heard a baby crying (at that point I realized I had a baby) and he ran over and snatched it up. He and his henchmen got out through the window with my baby.

This entire time my vision was still a little blurry from waking up on the couch. I ran crying to Chad to tell him that they took our baby, but when I went in the computer room he wasn't there. I ran through the apartment turning on lights (to watch them turn off again), trying to find him, but he wasn't there.

I saw the guy leap through the window again and advance toward me. I grabbed the nearest dangerous object and tried to hit him, but he just danced aside and grabbed me.

I don't remember much of what happened from there, but I never did get my baby back, and Chad never reappeared. I thought I woke up in reality several times, and I kept trying to, but I always turned out to be in the dream world.

When I finally did wake up I went in the computer room to check and make sure Chad was there. He was, and he was still on the phone.

I'm going to stop taking naps.

Wow, creepy...

Wow, Fishy, that's pretty creepy. I wonder what it means? I'll have to think about it for a while...

Maybe you should stay away from naps for a little while :)
