Trombones, Basketballs, and Monks.
((Note: This is a dream I had nearly a year ago, and I remembered it vividly upon waking. In my rush to write it all down, I skimmed over some of the details, and my grammar is atrocious. The document's Properties say: Friday, ‎May ‎30, ‎2008, ‏‎3:20:14 PM. I must have woken up from a nap (or slept in really late) and jumped right in.))

We were in a big church, with a really weird setup of stairs where you enter into the lobby. I was running from a bad guy of sorts to get upstairs to the HUGE sanctuary, where some people I knew from church and my sister were waiting. Upstage the people leading it were praying or speaking or something, and I had this stuffed animal (white monkey?) that makes music when you press it, and turns off when you press it again. It accidentally got hit and started making music, and, embarrassed, I tried to turn it off, but it wouldn't stop! There were tears in my eyes from laughing, I was so embarrassed and my face was so red. I eventually just sat on it, which only slightly muffled the sound. Then I left for some reason, found the giant band of teenagers getting their instruments ready outside, grabbed my trombone and followed them in to a huge sanctuary-sized room. HUNDREDS of kids, HUGE sections; I walked and walked past them all, listening to bassoons and cellos and flutes practicing, went past the middle of the gym (it looked like a gym with white stands (the material that the practice room walls at GC are made of) that certain sections were elevated on). I passed the middle and in the center was a stand for the conductor, with some flutes half-circled around him on their seats. I knew some of them, but can't remember their names. I get to the very back, turn left, then right again and see some trombone slides sticking out. After looking for a while I eventually find a stand with a music folder with my name on it, open it up, get my trombone out, another trombone player comes up to sit to my left to share music. Different kids with different instruments sat around me. We started playing. It was the theme from 3:10 to Yuma, and I was VERY excited, cuz it's gorgeous. But I kept messing up and not playing loud enough. Before going in to the stadium, I had been trying to warm up my trombone and play a little - one lady kept telling me something was wrong with my "F" cuz it never came out and I said I was just trying to be quiet. Anyway, all the sudden, as we're playing this theme, a creepy red energy being of some kind starts abducting various people. Or something. Kinda like the Doctor Who episode I watched last night with dad. And every time I played my trombone at it, it would leave and move, but when it did it looked creepy and bloody, with dark eyes. I eventually trapped it in my trombone case and had it held mostly shut with my slide, red colors leaking through the crack, but I eventually had to let it go, I couldn't hold it forever.
And a girl four or five seats to my left didn't have an instrument but sang the solo in the song (there isn't a solo in real life.)

Also, either earlier or later in the dream, I was walking through GC campus to Amanda's apartment (totally messed up layout) and started climbing the stairs, which were half-demolished. I had to go up the other way. They were wide and took up the whole hall and were light blue in color with some white. Anyway, I don't remember what happens when I get up there but it looked like a hall from 3rd Burritt Annex or something. I go exploring, find the bowling alley (didn't know there was one), had always wondered where it was, go into a side room where Mickey Denner and some other people are playing basketball. One guy I don't know, with shaggy black hair that comes to his shoulders, has a ball and looks at me strange with a semi-smile, like he's planning something funny or doesn't know what to think of me, or something. He chucks the ball at me, it hits my left hip and HURTS. I cry out, and as I turn, two more balls hit my head really hard in rapid succession. Everyone around me says something concerned sounding and I suddenly collapse. I don't know who catches me, but I've passed out, my left hand sticking up and curled over a little, and it twitches a bit. I'm out, but as I'm dreaming I'm still conscious of what's going on. I wake up five or ten seconds later, they help me up, and my hip really hurts. Someone says that guy was a stoner or something and I leave.

There's another part of the dream where we're told to find Advanced Students (I find a fairly fat guy who can't speak English very well and annunciate), and we have to bring them back to this lecture hall. They all get trapped in, the people running it are bad, one's a guy between 17 and 22, with short black hair and dark skin, and wonders why I'm sick, cuz I suddenly don't feel good and my right hand burns along the area between my thumb and forefinger. It gets red and little bumps start coming up and I'm sweating and feverish and collapsing all over the place, and the guy's like "what's wrong with her?" I find a small sticky thing poking out of my right leg, halfway up my thigh on the front (where the sun hits when I'm cutting grass), and it's light light grey, almost see-through, a stick with a nub at the end for me to hold. I try to pull it out, thinking it's just half an in long if that, but it doesn't want to move and it hurts. After a few minutes I finally get it out, and it's an inch and a half long! I don't know how it got in my leg, but that's what was making me sick.

Also, at some point I wrote a book in a novel-looking notebook with a red cover and... gold something on the front. Either a small design or lettering. Don't remember, just remember there was a bit of gold somewhere on the red cover. I finished writing in it, the book done, and set it down (I was with some people. I want to say monks but I don't think that's right). And then I left to go somewhere.

CRAZY dream.

Thanks for joining!

Hey, Lisa, thanks for joining!

This is indeed a weird, weird dream. It rivals even some of my most bizarre one's...

Thanks! I was mentioning a dream I'd had a few nights ago to Holly, and she told me about your little niche here. I'll have to read up on others' dreams and offer some interpretations of my own to earn my keep!
