Back to the Gate Wars
This dream happened just last night. Usually I'm a part of whatever adventures are taking place, but in this one I was just a bystander, watching others at work.

So Samantha Carter, Han Solo, and Marty McFly were running from the bad guys/trying to save the world and stuff. I thought they formed a cool trio, representing three of my favorite sagas. I vaguely remember a ship being involved somewhere earlier in the dream, but the last part is the most vivid.

The three of them were in a lecture hall, on the stage. The lecture hall had very steep stadium seating, and the room was fairly narrow, so the seating went really far back and really high. I was in one of the back rows way up at the top, on the left side (from my vantage point, anyway. The right side if looking from the stage).

Carter, Han, and McFly were on the stage, which was full of desks and worktables and boxes, some covered in lots of science-y doo-hickies and nick nacks and vials of liquids and strange instruments. Carter was on her laptop, typing away at some technical jargon; McFly was sitting on one of the larger desks near the front of the stage, facing out toward the seats. He was swinging his (relatively) short legs and had his palms braced on the edge of the desk, looking over his left shoulder at Han.

Han was off to the side, looking at the instruments and playing with random nozzles and vials. He looked ancy and bored, and ready to get out and shoot something.

Immediately to my left and slightly forward was a grate/vent that was set in the floor beside the wall. It was actually raised a little, as underneath was a stairwell. The plaster surrounding the entrance was a pale, faded, light aqua/blue. I don't think it was significant in any way.

So the trio way down front was working on something. The ceiling to this room is really high, btw. Suddenly, from the ceiling, a bunch of liquid mercury starts falling. It's dark grey. Immediately someone (I couldn't tell who) jumped forward with a wand from the Harry Potter-verse and pointed it forward, conjuring a large black disk out of nowhere for the mercury to land on. The mercury hit the disk and immediately started beading together and rolling around as the wand-wielder carefully lowered it. He had his back to me. He may have been wearing a robe.

Movie characters

Do movie characters make it into your dreams often? And were they working together on something, or just sort of doing their own thing.

And was the mercury a danger to yourself, the characters, or all involved? And who was this mysterious figure?

And last but not least, that plaster MUST mean something...

So many questions...

They were definitely working together on something. Like I said, there was a ship involved earlier that they were either commandeering or escaping from. I recall them coming down from the lowered walkway/ramp into a hangar of some sort.

And occasionally movie or book characters make an appearance. I can count a number of times I've dreamed of SG-1 from Stargate. Or just Michael Shanks (:D) Though I don't think I've ever dreamed of Marty McFly before. He's new.

I don't remember sensing any fear when the mercury came down; more like a dispassionate curiosity as to what would happen (ie: how destructive it might be) if it actually hit anything below it. The seats in the lecture hall were all empty except for me, though. And the strange wand-wielder who came out of nowhere. I don't remember who it was. It was a man. Around my age, I think.

And the plaster wasn't important, it was just a detail I remember about the grate-covered stairwell on my left. I think if my dream had progressed any farther it might have been used as an escape route or something.
