Emily & The Lion
I had this dream a couple nights ago, and it was so vivid and disturbing and symbolic that I need to record it.

Chad, myself, Mommy, Emily and Megan were all at my mom's house in Greenville. The old two-story Victorian marvel.

Emily just happened to have a full-grown, vicious male lion living in the shed. She knew she wasn't supposed to bring it in the house, but as usual, sometimes she did it anyway. On those occasions, it was understood that you should just leave the lion alone to wander in his room of choice. He usually hung out upstairs, and as long as you didn't bother him, he didn't bother you. However, if you did provoke him, you may very well be torn to bits. He was just a very dangerous, normal beast, and allowed only Emily to interact with him.

During one of the times Emily had the lion upstairs and was playing with him, his eyes suddenly changed and became intelligent like a human's. He grabbed Emily, looked at the rest of us, and said, "I've been watching you and if you don't give me exactly what I ask, I'll kill her. You know I'll do it." I don't remember exactly what it was that he asked for.

He then locked her in the room upstairs and started chasing the rest of us. We went up and down and in and out of the house in every way possible, trying to avoid the lion but still rescue Emily. One or two of us got scratched by him, but nothing more serious than that.

When I woke up, we still hadn't successfully evaded the lion or rescued Emily.

I told this dream to Chad and he came up with a very interesting and wise interpretation. I'm interested to hear other thoughts.

Emily is the lion?

I could be wrong; but it sounds like the lion represents a part of Emily's personality which she thought she could tame, but which is getting a little out of hand and affecting everyone in the household.

What were some of your/Chad's thoughts?
