| I've heard it's a good idea to blog about videos and music, because it'll be yet another way folks can discover them. So to that end, here I go:
Coming off of finishing "Dark Forest" (my first album, released in 2012), I knew I wanted to do something lighter and try my hand at a cover song. So I decided to tackle one of my favorites, Keane's song "Atlantic." I thought it would be fun to take a very vocal and drum oriented approach. So I filled out all of the background chords and arpeggios with vocals, and used my own drum samples (cribbed from "Dark Forest") to create a beat. After mixing it all together, I decided I wanted to make a video of it. I knew I needed to start making videos of my "Dark Forest" songs (this is still pending), or start making videos in general, so I decided to start with this one. I had a fun visual of a one-take video utilizing multiple mirrors and reflections. I shot it in a day, slapped the song on it, and this is the result: Thoughts? |
