The road is long, and I've struggled on...
Hey all! After much toil, I've finally put together another demo track. You can get it here. It's a song called "Plastic Sea," and it's tentatively track 3 on the up and coming "Dark Forest" album. It's my favorite of the songs I've written/recorded so far, and it's quite catchy! Any feedback is greatly appreciated (as this is not its final form). The lyrics are below:

Sitting on the road to nowhere
Floating in a plastic sea
Waiting for a train that's half-built
Waiting indefinitely

The lamp for sight is not too bright
But it shows me the way
The light ahead stops 10 feet in
And it hasn't even moved for days
But you say

You are not alone
You are not your own
You are mine alone
You are not alone

Half a mind for rushing forward
Half the heart for running back
Half an ear is strained to listen
Half an eye to keep on track

The road is long, and I've struggled on
But I've stopped along the way
I'm stranded here, and you're nowhere near
I can't stay here another day
But you say

You are not alone
You are not your own
You are mine alone
You are not alone x 2

Floating down a placid sea, floating down a plastic sea x 6
Floating down a placid sea, maybe the exit I seek is right ahead

Waiting for the end to come I continue on
Stumbling through the darkness, looking for the break of dawn
Maybe I will find the answer I've been waiting on right ahead

And I can't see far
But I keep moving
As I hear your voice
Say the exit is not far ahead

Plastic Sea

Hey Jaron, I love this song. It's got so many elements that come together at the end so well. The chorus works really well and I love the lyrics for the chorus.

As far as mixing goes, I love the mix and the way everthing sits well with each other and is panned just right. You are doing a great job with this. Keep up the great work.
